I'm not surprised by this. I was widowed at 45. My husband was lovely but I did the bulk if the child rearing and household chores. He did work a slightly longer working week, 35 hours to my 24. However, once he came home he did very little. He was the love of my life, but I couldn't help but feel resentful that I took on the physical and mental load of the household. And that, my friend, is why I will never marry or live with someone again. I'm refuse to be a skivvy again. BTW I earned more than him.
